Mercedes Benz Superdome DAS Project
DAS Installation, Upgrades and oDAS Coverage
In preparation for the BCS Bowl games, Optical Telecom was hired to install the clients largest DAS System at the New Orleans Superdome, which was later hailed by the client as an undertaking of “historic proportion” due to the fast track schedule of 90 days.
Optical Telecom, working with AT&T, completed the installation of the DAS system in just under three months. The project from beginning to end went from September, 2011 to being fully deployed on December 23, 2011, in time for the Saints win over the Atlanta Falcons. Crews worked on the deployment of the DAS around the clock and every effort was made to ensure the system was not obtrusive or bothersome to spectators.
